W.R. Meadows has expanded its line of air-barrier line of products with a new polyether liquid-applied flashing and detailing membrane.

Air-Shield Liquid Flashing is a gun-grade, low-odor, elastomeric that bonds to aluminum, brick, concrete, wood, vinyl, exterior gypsum board, and most other construction materials, the company says.

This general-purpose, wet flashing membrane is used to seal rough openings and detail joints between exterior gypsum board.

Air-Shield Liquid Flashing is solvent free and bonds to most construction materials, according to W.R. Meadows.

The product is designed for window and door flashing applications and is compatible with the entire line of W.R. Meadows Air-Shield air, vapor, and liquid moisture barriers, including joint detailing in exterior sheathing panels.

Features and Characteristics

The material is designed to be easy to apply and spread, offering "a more efficient approach to detailing methods than traditional self-adhesive materials," said Russ Snow, Building Science Specialist at W.R. Meadows.

The solvent-free formulation is non-sag, non-shrinking, compatible with most sealants, does not harm foam insulation, and is paintable within 24 hours, Snow said.
