What would it look like if hit songs by The Beatles, Amy Winehouse and Elvis Presley were buildings?

Italian architect and illustrator Federico Babina can show you.

Babina’s latest work “Archimusic” is a series of 27 illustrations depicting songs by famous musicians, ranging from Bach to Nirvana, as architectural renderings.

The "Archimusic" collection observes the connection between music and architecture.

In a press release, Babina, who lives and works in Barcelona, said he was inspired by taking an intangible item like music and giving it shape, light and color.

The artist’s resulting designs explore the connection between the art forms, interpreting the rhythm of building design.

A Cosmic Connection

“Music and architecture are intimately joined by cosmic connection,” Babina explains. “They both are generated by an underlying code, an order revealed by mathematics and geometry. Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence.”

“A building is like a harmonic progression following the movement of the chords,” he noted.

The colorful drawings are available for purchase via society6 online store. An 8”x10” print is $24.96 and can be shipped worldwide for free.

You can check out this project and others, such as “Archicine,” the recreation of famous buildings from cinematic history, on his website.
