Dunn-Edwards has reformulated its metal primer with waterborne technology instead of solvents.

Bloc-Rust Premium uses waterborne alkyd technology, providing a low-odor, fast-drying, water-cleanup option to conventional solvents, the company says.

Bloc-Rust Premium uses a waterborne alkyd technology that makes not only safer for people, but also for the environment.

Bloc-Rust Premium “blocks rust by protecting metal surfaces from moisture” and provides “corrosion resistance and adhesion on a variety of interior and exterior ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces,” product manager Sam Carrillo said in a product announcement.

Dunn Edwards says the product performed favorably in salt and fog testing against other national and regional water-based rust-inhibitive primers.

The product is available in white and red oxide.
