A veteran communications professional, steeped in both technical and creative environments, has taken the helm at Durability + Design magazine.

Amy Woodall, of Pittsburgh, has been named Editor in Chief for the monthly multi-platform journal, which focuses on building performance and aesthetics.

Each month, the publication provides in-depth coverage of issues related to the building envelope, coatings technology, color and design, decorative finishes, good technical practice, and maintenance and renovation.

Amy Woodall is the new Editor in Chief of Durability + Design magazine.

Woodall will also have a key role in leading Durability + Design 2015, the magazine's second annual conference and exposition, set for June 8-10, 2015, in Miami Beach, FL.

The event will examine coating and building-enclosure technologies through seminars, case history presentations, workshops, roundtable discussions, exhibits, and a mock trial.

'Growing and Dynamic Industry'

Woodall joins D+D after 16 years with Printing Industries of America, of Sewickley, PA, where she was Director of Technical Information/Publications.

There, she oversaw two publishing programs; published a monthly magazine and 20 books per year; managed an inventory of more than 300 print and digital titles, and worked closely with industry trade associations, leaders, consultants and vendors.
