Dow Building Solutions has introduced a patented liquid-applied flashing product designed to provide advanced moisture- and air-sealing protection to commercial buildings.

Billed as an alternative to flashing tape, LIQUIDARMOR-CM Flashing and Sealant is engineered to form a tight, seamless barrier along the rough openings of windows and doors when used with Dow's commercial wall assemblies, the company says.

The spray-applied coating seals to an elastomeric solid over joining hardware and gaps.

The spray-applied coating seals to an elastomeric solid around screws, veneer anchors, penetrating fasteners, and hard-to-reach gaps up to a quarter-inch wide.

The water-based coating is suitable for use on foam boards, steel studs, concrete masonry units, tapes, wood buck, and wraps. According to Dow, the product is non-hazardous and can be applied without a respirator or extra ventilation.

A division of The Dow Chemical Company, Dow Building Solutions is a global provider of insulation, air sealing and weatherization technologies for new and existing commerical and residential construction.
