BEACHWOOD, OH--Tremco Group has acquired certain assets of Chemtron Manufacturing Ltd., a Canadian manufacturer of construction adhesives, sealants and tapes for residential, commercial and OEM markets.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Calgary, Alberta, Chemtron Manufacturing has annual sales of approximately $5 million, Tremco said in a July 2 announcement.

Founded in 1958, Chemtron manufactures and markets over 30 products, including adhesives, caulks, glazing tapes, mastics, sealants and related compounds.

Chemtron will now operate as Chemtron International Inc. and will work closely with the Tremco Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing Division, due to synergies between the two businesses, Tremco said.

Tremco CS&W is a North American supplier of building envelope products for commercial and residential construction and industrial applications.

Expansion in the West

The acquisition will expand Tremco’s logistics with West Coast customers, according to Paul G.P. Hoogenboom, Tremco Group president.

“At the same time, we expect to accelerate Chemtron’s growth beyond the Pacific Northwest by leveraging its products across Tremco’s significant North American sales and distribution network,” said Hoogenboom.
