Roof coatings and waterproofing maker R.M. Lucas Co. has rolled out a new thermoplastic elastomer-based roofing sealant.

The product, #5400 Thermoplastic Rubberized Asphalt Sealant, complements the Chicago-based company’s existing line of roof installation and repair products.

The product is available in brush, trowel and caulk grades.

The new sealant bonds to most roofing surfaces, including asphalt, shingles, modified bitumen, metal, Kynar, wood, concrete, tile and masonry, according to the company.

Available in brush, trowel and caulk grades, R.M. Lucas says #5400 offers UV stability, will not crack or harden over time and is easy to apply even in cold weather.
