Question: What’s painted orange, purple and yellow and causing a dispute among neighbors in a Chicago suburb?

Answer: A house.

Reports say a rather “unusual” paint job has popped up in the Glen Ellyn village and has some neighbors seeing red.

Paint after Complaint

The home, situated on an otherwise “tidy block,” showcases alternating stripes of bright orange, yellow and purple, according to local reports.

The paint job was said to have appeared about two weeks ago after an adjacent property owner complained to city officials about the number of dogs living in the home and the owner’s alleged failure to remove pet waste from the yard, according to a local CBS affiliate, CBS 2.

The complaint caused police to ticket the owner for violating the village’s limit of three dogs and the county’s health department has given the owners until Aug. 31 to remove feces on the property, the report said.

Middle Finger Paint Job?

But as for the paint job, well, there aren’t any ordinances regulating paint colors on homes in the neighborhood, CBS reports.

“It just feels like a finger in the air,” a neighbor said to the news bureau.

“We can’t imagine it would be anything but.”
