A small group of volunteers, wielding brushes and rollers, have given two newly constructed Habitat for Humanity homes in Twinsburg, OH, paint makeovers just in time for the holidays.

Ace Hardware, The Wooster Brush Company and Valspar Corp. collaborated with the Habitat for Humanity of Summit County chapter to complete the projects Dec. 8-9, The Wooster Brush Company said in a Dec. 10 announcement.

"It was great that our three companies were able to work together and turn this product-knowledge session into good deeds for these two Ohio families," said Casey Mathews, national account manager for The Wooster Brush Company.

Volunteers painted two Twinsburg, OH, Habitat for Humanity homes.

The families were able to choose the custom paint colors used on the homes, said Rochelle D. Sibbio, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Summit County. The paints were donated by Valspar and included a latex paint and primer in one.

More than 15 volunteers from Ace Hardware locations around Northeast Ohio participated in the project.

Time and Tools

Wooster Brush said it donated both time and tools to the effort.

“This project allowed the Ohio-based paint applicator manufacturer to take its education efforts one step further,” the company said.

Throughout the project, Wooster said it educated Ace Hardware personnel about selecting the best tools for various coatings jobs and demonstrated proper painting techniques.
