Laticrete International Inc. has introduced a single-coat, 100 percent solids, liquid-applied, two-part epoxy coating designed to control moisture vapor emission from concrete surfaces.

The Dryteck Moisture Vapor Barrier Pigment Base provides “a uniform and consistent base color” for use under the company’s Spartacote coatings system, according to the manufacturer.

The company says the latest addition to its Spartacote family eliminates one coat in the installation process.

The product reportedly reduces the moisture vapor emission rate from ≤25 pounds/1,000 square feet/24 hours (1,415 µg/(s • m) to below 3 pounds/1,000 square feet/24 hours (170 µg/(s • m) in concrete slabs, according to the company.

Additional Features

The product is available in eight colors: Black, White, Light Grey, Medium Grey, Dark Grey, Light Beige, Sand Beige, and Dark Beige.

According to Laticrete, the pigment base is easy to apply and mix onsite and is VOC-compliant / UL Greenguard Gold Certified for use in high-profile job sites, such as schools and hospitals.
