Register now for the free webinar on selecting and specifying floor treatments for retail environments, including grocery stores and warehouse outlets.

The presentation is the second in a three-webinar series on specifying coatings and other treatments for different flooring applications. A recording of the first webinar, which focused on flooring finishes for hospitals and schools, is available here.

The final webinar, “Specifying Concrete Floor Coatings and Treatments for Aggressive Environments,” is scheduled for May 19.

Presentation Details

Thursday’s webinar will review various floor coating options for buildings that generally handle high traffic and are open six to seven days each week. These particular environments also have aesthetic concerns, as the flooring reflects upon the brand image.

The presentation will provide an overview of flooring performance, aesthetics and cost impact associated with specific types of retail establishments from restaurants to grocery stores to warehouse outlets.

Tom Murphy, a floor-coating industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, will present the webinar.

The benefits and limitations of concrete staining/dying, polished concrete, thin-film coatings, high-build resinous flooring and thin-set terrazzo will be discussed. The presentation will also review important specification details relevant to retail applications.

Further, due to the influence of the concrete substrate on the floor finish, the presentation will cover the specification, testing and surface preparation standards and guidelines. Finally, system installation procedures and details will be also discussed.

About the Presenter

The webinar will be presented by Tom Murphy, a floor-coating industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience. He works with the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) to provide third-party training and certification for installation of seamless floor coatings. He also chairs and participates on several committees associated with the building guides and standards for concrete coatings, concrete repair, and surface preparation.

As an independent consultant to the concrete coating industry, Murphy assists material manufacturers in developing customer-oriented strategies. He also works to help specifiers and owners understand the merits of protecting concrete, and he helps contractors to provide superior installations.
