The buzz in the coming year will be all about Honey Glow, a paint color described as a “warm, golden yellow with brown undertones,” according to Dunn-Edwards.

Color expert Sara McLean explains that Dunn-Edwards' “Color of the Year” for 2017 makes a bold statement that re-energizes spaces.

Dunn-Edwards predicts that Honey Glow will be the go-to hue in 2017.

In its Color of the Year announcement, the Los Angeles-based paint manufacturer also said that it would donate 10 percent of sales of the paint tinted in Honey Glow to HoneyLove.org, a nonprofit organization that encourages urban beekeeping and educates people about making their garden bee friendly by avoiding pesticides, providing water and shelter, and adding pollinator-friendly plants.

McLean says the choice reflects extensive research on color trends in pop culture and fashion.

“Honey Glow embodies the trend toward the warming of all colors—from neutrals to non-neutrals,” she says, recommending the paint color for accent walls as well as accessories.

I'm impressed with the manufacturer's marketing strategy. Connecting their color name to an endangered animal on which much of our daily food depends - bees. Then they chose to capture more customers who are socially conscious consumers who value the bees. Smart.
