CEO and former president Jerry Hoyle of CTS Cement Manufacturing passed away Oct. 31 at the age of 69.

Before becoming CEO, Mr. Hoyle had served as executive vice president of CTS.

Fields of Expertise

According to the company, Mr. Hoyle was an expert in a range of matters related to mining and manufacturing: mineralogy, quarrying, cement plant operations, multiple kilns, finish grinding, product specifications, quality assurance programs and product applications.

“Jerry’s leadership positioned CTS Cement Manufacturing as the industry leader,” said Ed Rice, chairman emeritus and founder of CTS. “But more than that, he was a valued friend and co-worker to us all. He will be greatly missed.”

'More than Just a Leader'

Ken Vallens, president of Engineering Sales and Research at CTS added, “We all know Jerry was a strong and determined leader who was incredibly dedicated to CTS.”

“For many of us here, Jerry was more than just a leader and manager; he was a supporter, a confidant, a mentor and a friend. CTS has many talented and dedicated people who will usher it through this difficult time and ensure it goes on to great success, but it won’t be quite the same without Jerry.”

Bill McCormick, chairman of the board for CTS, will serve as interim CEO until a new CEO is named.

Mr. Hoyle is survived by his wife, Ann, and two children, the company says.

CTS Cement Manufacturing manufactures Rapid Set cement products for concrete repairs, restoration and new construction projects.
