MSA (Cranberry Township, PA) has rolled out three new fall-protection products for construction and related industries.

The Latchways 10-foot Cable Personal Fall Limiter (PFL) is said to be the most compact and lightweight self-retracting lanyard (SRL) in its class using multiple spring radial energy-absorbing technology.

The company says the new design eliminates the need for an external energy absorber outside of the housing, making it the smallest self-retracting lanyard in its class, it adds.

Among three new safety products announced by MSA, the Latchways 10-foot Cable Personal Fall Limiter is said to be the most compact and lightweight self-retracting lanyard in its class.

The new Latchways Mini Personal Fall Limiter comes in single & twin-leg tie-back versions, MSA says, adding that it was designed to be the most compact and lightweight self-retracting lanyard using multiple spring radial energy-absorbing technology.

This new design also does away with the need for an external energy absorber outside of the housing, making it the smallest self-retracting lanyard on the market, according to the manufacturer.

Both products are constructed of a durable polycarbonate, clear casing intended to facilitate visual inspection of the critical internal components, the company explains.

Additionally, they provide a fully rotating attachment point, both 360 degrees and 180 degrees, for complete user mobility, it says.

MSA says its new Latchways Mini Personal Fall Limiter comes in single & twin-leg tie-back versions.

The company recommends these PFL devices for use in multiple work applications for contractors working in industries such as general industry, utilities, construction, and oil and gas.

MSA has also launched the Latchways Leading Edge Retractable Lanyard. The SRL was designed with an integral energy absorber, which ensures the lifeline remains intact in the event of a fall over a sharp edge, the manufacturer says.

Its design includes all of the features of the Latchways Standard SRL device, such as the patented Constant Force technology and the Full Contact locking mechanism, which safeguards the device so it will not freeze, hang up or corrode, MSA explains.

According to the company, the Latchways Leading Edge SRL is suitable for use in multiple work applications in industries such as construction, general industry, utilities, and oil and gas, where potential for a fall over sharp edges exists.
