Valspar has voluntarily recalled wood cleaner and brightener products due to a chemical hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The CPSC says the products were sold in August and September under the Cabot brand in several states, including Minnesota and North Dakota.

“A faulty cap seal can cause the containers to leak contents, posting a chemical hazard to consumers,” the CPSC writes in the recall report. “Inhaling, ingesting or skin contact with the product can cause burning and other injuries.”

The Minneapolis-based company is offering a refund on the 10,300 products in the recall. They were sold in one-gallon white bottles, featuring the yellow Cabot label. The CPSC has listed the alphanumeric identifiers included in the recall on its website.

Consumers are directed to stop using the products, keep them away from children and immediately contact Valspar for disposal and refund instructions.

More information is available by calling 877-755-3336 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET or online at www.cabotstain.com.
