Global construction materials supplier Grace Construction Products has developed a new suite of products to seal and protect homes from water, snow and ice.

Unveiled six months after Hurricane Sandy displaced thousands of families in the northeastern U.S., Grace's Weather Protection Systems line is designed to increase energy efficiency and guard residential properties from the damage wrought by water intrusion.

Weather Protection Systems offers a suite of products to protect roofs and other areas of the building envelope where water can intrude and damage homes.

"Extreme weather is the new normal, so 'building as usual' is no longer an option," the company said in a product announcement. "Every home must be constructed to withstand wind-driven rain, snow and ice, and everything else that Mother Nature brings."

With a variety of products reaching from basement to roof, Weather Protection Systems provides waterproofing protection to seal houses from moisture damage that can cause mold, poor indoor air quality and structural problems, according to Grace.

The line consists of:

“Your house does not have to be in a coastal environment or in an extreme snow and ice region to be prone to water damage,” says Sonya Santos, director of marketing at Grace Construction Products.

For waterproofing residential walls, doors and windows, Grace's system offers Vycor enV (liquid), enV-S (sheets) and self-adhered flashings.

"Grace Construction Products’ residential Weather Protection Systems offers home builders the opportunity to better shield homes against the devastating effects of water."

Grace Construction Products manufactures roofing underlayments, waterproofing systems, air barriers, grout technologies, concrete admixtures, fibers, surface treatments and liquid pigments, additives for cement processing and masonry products, as well as fire protection products.
