A new line of modified acrylic finishes for wall cladding and exterior surfaces has been introduced by the Wall Systems business of BASF Corp.’s Construction Chemicals Division.

Tersus Finishes are formulated to provide “excellent water repellency and enhanced resistance to environmental soiling,” according to the Jacksonville, FL-based business.

Features, Tests

BASF says the finishes use a proprietary formula to produce a highly hydrophobic, non-polar surface that repels water.

The finishes are available in two textures and a variety of colors.

In addition, its anti-soiling properties have been tested using two industry established test methods, Dirt Collection ASTM D3719 and Dade County Testing Application Standard (TAS) 143 (modified for textured coatings), the company says.

The product is available in two textures, a 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm sand texture, and can be produced in a wide variety of colors.

BASF Wall Systems is a manufacturer of exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), stucco and air/water-resistive barriers.

Topcoat Hits North America

Also, BASF’s Building Systems business has announced the North America launch of its cementitious urethane topcoat, UCRETE DP Topcoat.

The flooring product completes the suite of UCRETE products for the region and provides “robust chemical resistance in harsh food and beverage environments,” according to the company.

BASF's UCRETE DP Topcoat is recommended for use in harsh food and beverage facilities.

The easy-to-apply topcoat also offers a uniform, dense and impervious system for long-lasting durability, BASF says.

BASF Building Systems, based in Shakopee, MN, manufactures a variety of products for the building and construction industry, including sealants, industrial flooring, wall coating, water repellents, grouting, and concrete and masonry repair products.
